The Social Service Contractors Indemnity Pool (SSCIP) was formed in 1986 for the express purpose of providing insurance protection to social service agencies at a fair and equitable price. Today SSCIP provides property and liability protection to approximately one-third of eligible social service providers. A contract with governmental entities, such as State, County or City, or a regional behavioral health authority, within the State of Arizona is the primary eligibility requirement.
SSCIP provides comprehensive insurance protection, designed specifically for social service agencies through its Administrator, Southwest Risk Services (SWRS). In addition, claims management, loss control and risk management services, training and education, developed for social and human services organizations, are part of the overall SSCIP program.
